On 1st October the 16th edition of the Annual Plastics Sector Meeting was held at the Palau de la Música in Valencia, organised by the AVEP (Association of Valencian Plastics Companies) along with the AIMPLAS, Plastics Technology Institute, which also took advantage of the event to celebrate their 25th anniversary.
IRISEM was present at the event, where we were awarded with the certification granted to new members, recently incorporated to the AVEP, one of Spain’s reference organisations in the Plastics sector, which we have come to form a part of, and of which Amaya Fernández, the IRISEM Administration and Finances Director, is a board member.
In recent years the importance of IRISEM’s activity in the Plastics sector has grown considerably, currently representing 40% of the company’s turnover. Within the organisation this sector is currently enjoying a boom and offers a tremendous opportunity for growth in the future.
Over 400 persons, including people from the plastics sector, trade professionals, public bodies and representatives of the academic sphere, attended the event, which also benefitted from the institutional participation of Jùlia Company, Director General of Industry and Energy for the Generalitat of Valencia and Director of the IVACE.
The Chairman of the AVEP, Mr. Salvador Benedito, expressed his gratitude to everybody from the sector that had, once more, put in an appearance at the Meeting, and called on the business people present to actively participate, through their organisations, in both the AVEP and the AIMPLAS, for purposes of unification, and also to take full advantage of the activities and advances that have been made by this business sector.
